Politeknik Indonusa Surakarta Hosts a Student Exchange Program Involving 5 Countries

Politeknik Indonusa Surakarta hosted the VOYAGES 2025 Student Exchange program with the theme “Visionary Outreach by Young Academics for Global Enrichment and Sustainability.” The program was attended by 55 participants from five countries: Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Timor-Leste, and Madagascar. A series of activities was held in Surakarta on September 19-20, 2025, and online on September 26, 2025. Under the auspices of APTISI Komisariat II Surakarta (the Association of Private Universities in Surakarta), VOYAGES 2025 aims to build an international academic network while providing students with the opportunity to develop global insights, leadership skills, and a spirit of sustainability. Through the theme, participants are invited not only to share academic perspectives but also to create visionary ideas in facing global challenges.

One of the main focuses of this program is cross-cultural learning, where international participants have the opportunity to learn about Solo’s culture through various interactive cultural activities. From discussions and presentations to cultural activities, the entire series is designed to strengthen international understanding while enriching diversity awareness. In her speech, Ir. Suci Purwandari, MM., Ph.D., the Director of Politeknik Indonusa Surakarta, said that this student exchange program not only broadens academic knowledge but also strengthens the values of global collaboration and cultural diplomacy. “Through VOYAGES 2025, we hope that participants can become agents of change who contribute to sustainable development, both locally and globally,” she added.

With the success of this year’s event, the VOYAGES Student Exchange is expected to become a sustainable program that opens up more opportunities for cross-border collaboration and positions Surakarta as a center for cultural learning and innovation on the international stage.
